Our members

CADRI Partners are a group of like-minded actors in humanitarian assistance and development cooperation who join forces to provide a coherent offer of services to countries to help them reduce their exposure and vulnerability to disaster and climate risk.
 

Executive Partners


  • The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2012. FAO contributes to the CADRI Pooled Fund and deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the agriculture, food security and nutrition sectors.
  • The International Organization for Migration (IOM) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2016. IOM contributes to the CADRI Pooled Fund and deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in displacement crisis management, camp coordination and camp management, and infrastructure.
  • The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was a founding member of the CADRI Partnership in 2007, together with OCHA and UNISDR. UNDP was designated as the Manager of the CADRI Pooled Fund and manages the CADRI Secretariat. UNDP deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in risk governance, disaster preparedness, urban risk management and recovery.
  • The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2017. UNFPA contributes to the CADRI Pooled Fund and deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of population and data, sexual and reproductive health and gender equity.
  • The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2012. UNICEF contributes to the CADRI Pooled Fund and deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the education, WASH and nutrition sectors.

Technical Partners


  • The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. IFRC deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of disaster preparedness, emergency response, climate change adaptation with a focus on the community level.
  • The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is one of the founding members of the CADRI Partnership in 2007, together with UNDP and UNDRR. OCHA deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of disaster preparedness and readiness, and emergency response.
  • The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. UNESCO deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of protection of cultural heritage, water related disasters, disaster education and science.
  • The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. UNOPS deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in resilient infrastructure systems and infrastructure-based solutions with community involvement.
  • The World Food Programme (WFP) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. WFP deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of disaster preparedness, emergency response, climate change adaptation including early warning systems and risk transfer mechanisms.
  • The World Health Organization (WHO) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. WHO deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of health emergency and disaster risk management and climate change adaptation with a focus on health system strengthening.
  • The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. WMO deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services in the area of climate services applications to improved forecast services and early warnings, as well as risk assessments.

Advisory Partners


  • The Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2014. GFDRR provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services.
  • The Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2018. GNDR provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services, such as good practices, training modules and other capacity development tools.
  • The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2018. ODI provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services.
  • The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2017. OECD provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services.
  • RedR Australia joined the CADRI Partnership in 2018. RedR Australia provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services.
  • The United Nations Office for disaster risk reduction, UNDRR (formerly UNISDR), is one of the founding members of the CADRI Partnership in 2007, together with UNDP and OCHA. UNDRR deploys specialized expertise in response to country demand for CADRI services and provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services.
  • The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) joined the CADRI Partnership in 2015. UNITAR provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services, such as the e-catalogue of training modules.
  • UN Women joined the CADRI Partnership in 2019. UN Women provides advisory guidance to the development of CADRI Partnership products and services, such as good practices, training modules and the CADRI Capacity Diagnosis and Planning tool, to ensure a strong focus on gender equality and women’s rights in disaster risk reduction.

Financing Partners


  • The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg joined the CADRI Partnership in 2018 as a Financing partner. Luxembourg made a contribution of 500,000 Euros to the CADRI Pooled Fund to support the initiation of the CADRI Joint Programme 2019-2023. The Luxembourg financing contribution was critical to operationalize the regionalization of the CADRI services and develop digital solutions to support identification of integrated solutions to reduce disaster and climate change impact.
  • The Government of Sweden supports the implementation of the CADRI Joint Programme 2019-2023 through the financing of a Junior Professional Officer (JPO) in the CADRI Partnership Secretariat for a three-year period 2021-2023.
